Closed Stack Area Open Again
Renovation and cleaning work in the storage area are well underway. As a result, all library holdings are now accessible again and can be requested via KatalogPlus. Newly licensed and available now: the Ebooks from Hanser 2026. This comprehensive collection provides you with access to specialized literature in the fields of engineering and production technology, business, IT, and the natural sciences. The download model allows for an unlimited number of simultaneous accesses and unlimited usage duration. Mobile access is available at any time, but is limited to the RWTH Aachen University network or via RWTH Single Sign-On. LunchBreak@MedBib: Library and Literature Research for Newcomers
Every first Tuesday of the month, a guided tour of the Medical Library takes place from 12.30 noon to 1pm. During the tour, the Medical Library offerings are introduced and its most important services are demonstrated. Registration is not required. The monthly tours are held in German. Guided tours at other times, with specific topics, with a bigger group, or in English can be requested. More information can be found here. |

A Look Back at Open Society Day
Open Society Day, which took place nationwide on June 20 this year, was launched by the Open Society Initiative e.V. We were also present that day at the front yard of the University Library to create a space for exchange and encounters. Over coffee, vegan muffins, and conversations, multiple perspectives got together. A special highlight was the reading by Musa Deli from his book “Unsichtbare Mauern” on the failing integration into the German society because of “invisible walls” that people with an immigrant background run into. The discussion that followed, opened by Dr. Jochen Johannsen, also included audience participation with reflections on the conditions for an open society, solidarity, and social participation.
