Part-Time Master’s Degree

Customized studies at RWTH Business School

How can you combine a challenging study program with a professional career? This question was right at the heart of further development of the M.Sc. Management & Engineering in Technology, Innovation, Marketing & Entrepreneurship at RWTH Business School, the further education provider for management at RWTH Aachen University. From October 2025, the part-time version of the degree course will offer even more flexibility, and it can be studied from anywhere – ideal for working professionals looking to take the next step in their career.

Learn flexibly thanks to digital formats

The new curriculum relies on digital teaching and learning formats that can be seamlessly integrated into everyday working life. Seminars, group work, and case studies are conducted online. Even the final exams are completely digital. However, it is still possible to attend classroom courses for those who prefer to discuss ideas on site. This is because the program is also offered full-time on campus.

“Our goal is to offer students the maximum amount of flexibility,” explains Professor Torsten-Oliver Salge, academic director of the program.

The duration of the course is as flexible as the program itself: Anything from three to six semesters is possible. Many students are supported by their employers, as the part-time master's degree not only broadens their own horizons, but it also helps the company to develop and retain qualified specialists.

Individual focus and practical relevance

A particular focus of the revised program is on its individual structure. Students can choose from three specialization areas: Innovation & Product Development, Marketing & Sales or Entrepreneurship. In addition, the newly introduced “Tech Transfer Labs” provide a practical link between technology and management. The focus here is on cutting-edge topics such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and clean tech.

Who is studying this program?

RWTH Business School students are part of a dynamic community of experts from a wide range of prestigious technology companies. Since the cohort size is 15 to 20 students, intensive discussions can take place within the cohort and with the lecturers. The students come from a wide variety of different countries and, with an average age of 29, they have an average of 5.3 years of professional experience. What unites them all is their desire to add management skills to their technical expertise. They are often aiming to take on more responsible positions in the company in the future. The new curriculum continues the success story of this degree program at RWTH Business School. It’s a story in which professional development, technological innovation, and flexibility go hand in hand.
